Utilizing SmartAuto mode, the FlexScan OTDR automatically adapts to the network under test, executing multiple scans swiftly and accurately. This mode precisely identifies network components and faults, measures loss and reflectance, and supports two test modes: Locate End & Faults for rapid troubleshooting and Characterize Fiber for comprehensive installation verification. Additionally, FlexScan checks for live fiber and verifies the OTDR launch connection before initiating a test, enhancing user convenience.

Simplified Troubleshooting with LinkMap:
The LinkMap feature offers a user-friendly icon-based view of the tested network, clearly identifying fiber start, end, connectors, splices, PON splitters, and macro-bends. With Pass/Fail indications, LinkMap enables both novice and experienced users to troubleshoot optical networks with ease and accuracy. Instant toggling between LinkMap and Trace views further enhances usability.

Bluetooth and WiFi Connectivity:
FlexScan supports Bluetooth connectivity, allowing seamless pairing with AFL’s FOCIS Flex connector inspection probe for fast and easy connector end-face inspection. Additionally, built-in WiFi facilitates wireless remote control and file transfer to/from Windows PCs, Android, and iOS mobile devices, ensuring faster connectivity and enhanced flexibility.

Comprehensive Functionality:
Equipped with a Visual Fault Locator (VFL) and optional optical laser source (OLS) and optical power meter (OPM), FlexScan offers a versatile solution for complete testing accuracy. AFL’s unique Wave ID capability synchronizes the power meter to a single or multiwavelength Wave ID optical signal, streamlining test processes and eliminating setup errors. The VFL’s red laser enables visual pinpointing of macrobends and fiber breaks, enhancing fault localization efficiency.
